Wisdom teeth have a reputation for being problematic and wisdom teeth removal is very common. As the last teeth to come through, they frequently try to erupt into a jaw too small to accommodate them and will need to be removed to avoid damage or infection to your existing teeth. Common problems include impacted wisdom teeth, where they try to come up underneath existing teeth, or wisdom teeth that have partially erupted.
How Will I Know If My Wisdom Teeth Need Extracting?
If your wisdom teeth have yet to make an appearance, we will keep a close eye on their development using digital x-rays to see exactly where they are and to determine how they will come through. We will only remove them if they cannot erupt normally.
Is Wisdom Tooth Removal Painful?
You do not need to worry as we will ensure your appointment for wisdom teeth removal is completely pain-free and our dentists are very experienced and extremely gentle. It is normal to feel a bit sore for a few days afterwards as your mouth heals and you may find it preferable to stick to softer, easy-to-chew foods for a day or two, particularly if you have had more than one tooth removed. Recovery should be quick and uneventful and we are always here to answer any queries you may have. You can call us on (07) 5442 2136 or visit us at Noosa Civic, 31 Blackall Street, Woombye QLD 4559.
