Meet Dr Kelly Hunter — Principal Dentist at Woombye Dental

With over three decades of experience in dentistry, Dr Kelly Hunter brings warmth, expertise, and deep roots in the community to her role as Principal Dentist at Woombye Dental.
Graduating in 1993 with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Sydney, Dr Hunter began her career working alongside her father in their family-run dental practice. Over time, she assumed increasing responsibilities and in 2012 officially took over as principal dentist — honouring the family legacy while shaping a modern, patient-centred clinic.
A commitment to comprehensive dental care for all ages
Dr Hunter’s professional passions lie in preventive dentistry, geriatric dental care, and children’s dentistry — reflecting her dedication to supporting the long-term oral health of individuals, families, and multiple generations alike.
But that’s not all. Recognising the evolving needs of patients and advances in dental care, she has pursued advanced training in several disciplines: orthopaedic orthodontics, dental implants, sports dentistry, and sleep dentistry. She carries a particular interest in the diagnosis and management of sleep apnoea, underscoring her holistic approach to patient wellbeing.
Building relationships — one smile at a time
What sets Dr Hunter apart is not just her technical skill, but her genuine belief in long-term relationships. She values the loyalty and trust shown by patients who return year after year — sometimes across generations — which reflects her commitment to consistent, compassionate care. Her leadership fosters a close-knit, supportive team culture at Woombye Dental, ensuring every patient is treated with respect, comfort, and understanding.
Life beyond the clinic
Outside her busy dental schedule, Dr Hunter cherishes family time, camping adventures, reading, puzzles, and cooking. For her, there’s nothing better than bringing people together through good food and heartfelt connection — a philosophy that resonates with the warmth she extends to her patients every day.
Why Woombye Dental isn’t just a clinic — it’s a community
Under Dr Hunter’s leadership, Woombye Dental has grown beyond a dental practice into a welcoming place where patients of all ages and backgrounds feel comfortable — whether coming for a child’s first check-up, regular preventive care, or advanced dental treatments. Thanks to her decades of experience, broad training, and community-focused approach, Dr Hunter embodies what it means to provide not just dental health services, but long-lasting care.
